Weekend Results for College Hoops!

A lot of local kids were participating in some great college basketball this weekend, starting with Saturday January 8, 2011....

#9 UConn 82 Texas 81 -
T. O'lander*(E.O Smith) started the game and played 21 minutes. He grabbed 5 rebounds to go along with 4pts. in this entertaining, yet debacle of a game.

Duquesne 81 Houston Baptists 64
 Damien Saunders*(Crosby) played 36 minutes scored 12 pts, 7reb, 3 stl, 4 Blks. He shows why he is reigning defensive POY for the A-10. B.J Monteiro*(Crosby) 19 mins. scored 5pts, 2reb, and 2 assts.

Maine 82 UMBC 67 -
Adrian Satchell*(Windsor) played 24 minutes, scored 9pts, 5 rebs. Travis King(New Haven)* played 26 minutes had 5 pts, 4 rebs, and 2 assists

George Washington 78 St. Joes 71 -
Dan Guest(West Hartford) played 6 minutes and tallied no stats. Charoy Bentley (Harding) played 1 minute and scored 1 point.

FOR SUNDAY JANUARY 9TH, 2011....

In the biggest game in a while for a Connecticut native, Jordan Williams* (Torrington) held his own against the #1 Duke Blue Devils. In a physical game, the reigning Freshman All-ACC selection had 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 2blks. Duke took down Maryland 71-64. Congrats to Williams on a terrific performance.
